I am a Lecturer in Sociolinguistics at Queen Mary University of London. I am also a Research Associate on Speaking Citizens, and a Visiting Fellow of Linguistics at the University of Suffolk. From January 2022, I will take up a permanent position as Lecturer in Sociolinguistics at the University of Edinburgh. I am a sociolinguist who is principally interested in exploring the social meaning of variable patterns of language.

My research explores the intersection of digital culture and language variation and change. Most of my research has examined the linguistic practices of young people.
